To catch a masked stranger
Monday 19:25 : buzz buzz . a new message from my mystery texter. Now, how does one go about catching someone who's trying to remain hidden... ...Well, Yes, one could try calling the number and seeing who answers, but frankly where's the fun in that... ...and anyway I tried that last week, got through to voicemail and didn't recognize the voice on the announcement either. So, this time I send a reply that ran something like this "Picture a pram with toys scattered on the floor beheath (yup, it was dark as I texted it so didn't spot the mistake) it. That's me in that pram that is". Then swiftly followed it up by enquiring if it was my 'wife' playing about... ...Must have been all of three seconds later that my mobile lit up with the announcement "Mystery calling"... ..."Gotcha", but did I answer...did I *%^$
Mobile Mystery
It's been a week now (almost to the hour) since the first text arrived...slightly strange valentines based one it was too, but anon and from a mobile number I don't have in my contacts list - surely someone mistyped a mobile number and sent it to me by mistake, but No, this was addressed to me using a familiar alias I go under. Then on Monday evening another one arrived from the same mysterious texter... an exchange of texts ensues as I try to work out who this person is...but none of the obvious suspects bite when I probe... ...so here I am (three days later, still none the wiser, and, after a phone battery change which deleted all my texts, no record of the texts or the number from whenst they came) waiting for my veiled texter to burst in to life again unsure if it is genuine, a tease, or the distant missus on a 'fishing trip'.
